Club rules
0: Be respectful and welcoming to everyone
This applies to all club activities and takes precedence over and informs all other club rules. Foamcraft is meant to be an open, welcoming and accessible community and actions that detract from these goals will not be tolerated.
Game specific rules
All participants must be at least 18 years of age and complete the UC Davis athletic participation waiver. Waivers will be provided to new participants at each event.
All blasters must have a blaze orange tip and/or be brightly colored. All black / tan / olive drab blasters will not be allowed. Club leadership will have final discretion whether to allow use of any given blaster.
Some form eye protection is mandatory for all participants.
Blaster velocity is capped at 150 FPS unless otherwise specified. If you are unsure about the velocity of your blaster please ask a game moderator so it can be measured with a chronograph.
Games may be paused by any player at any time by yelling "Pause!". Upon hearing "pause" being called other players should echo and immediately stop all game play until resumed by a moderator. Some reasons to call a pause include
A non-participant has entered the field
A participant is not wearing appropriate eye protection
An injury to a player or some other condition you feel is unsafe in someway as occurred
Only game participants with eye protection are allowed to be tagged.
Blaster tag works on the honor system. If you are called out by another player assume they are correct with the expectation they would provide you the same courtesy.
Allowed ammo types are full and half length darts, Mega and Mega XL darts, Rival balls and vortex discs unless otherwise specified. Darts that have been modified after their purchase are not allowed.
Foam melee weapons are allowed (pool noodles, Nerf swords, etc.) but may not be used in conjunction with a blaster. All melee devices must be checked by a game moderator prior to the start of each event to ensure their safety.
For the safety of yourself and other players climbing, vaulting, jumping onto or off of objects is not allowed.
The spirit of all game rules is to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants; actions taken that are contrary to these goals will not be allowed. When in doubt feel free to ask a game moderator.
Mod party specific rules
All participants must be over 18 years of age and complete the UC Davis participation waiver. Waivers will be provided to new participants at each event.
New participants must attend the modding safety primer presentation at least once. Safety presentations will be held 20 minutes before the official mod party start times at the same location.
Members may bring their own tools as long as safety best practices are followed but use of any tool is subject to approval by club leadership.
Club tools must be returned at the end of the event.
Participants are responsible for thoroughly cleaning their work area before the official event time ends.
